The Caribbean Culture Guide, released on February 26th

A unique work in french on Caribbean cultures and those who make them.

The Caribbean Culture Guide will be in bookstores on the 15^th of March.

The first issue focuses on Haiti Guadeloupe Martinique Europe.

This first edition introduces to the cultural actors in the French speaking Caribbean countries (Guadeloupe, Haiti, Martinique) and mainly to the cultural actors of French Caribbean descent who live in Europe.

This guide was realized in collaboration with the Collectif 2004 Images for the promotion of haitian culture.

The Guide

A tool for professionals and for all those who want to know more about Culture in the Caribbean, this Guide proposes an overview for each country, analyses and accounts given by artists.

It provides useful information on performing arts, media, awards and foundations.

It displays a list of more than 1 000 artists and cultural structures in the following artistic domains: visual arts, broadcasting, tale, dance, literature, music, drama..

Three complete indexes, maps , chronologies and a great number of tools make this guide a MUST !

En choisissant le thème de la culture, ce guide-annuaire en ligne a pour ambition de devenir à la fois un outil de travail et de référence pour les professionnels des arts et du spectacle vivant, organisateurs de spectacles, diffuseurs, responsables de projets, artistes mais aussi de saisir véritablement cette Caraïbe en perpétuelle création et recréation.

Cependant pour aller plus loin dans la circulation des œuvres, des idées, des individus, pour développer l’inter-culturalité, pour valoriser la ou plutôt les diversités qui aujourd’hui façonnent notre monde, il est nécessaire de créer un outil essentiel pour faciliter les échanges, valoriser les productions de qualité et professionalisantes.
